Although it can be rather hard to find the actual remaining part of the wall, every now and then you come across a place that just evokes thoughts of ancient days.  The weather on this day was perfect for the kind of image I was looking for and made me try to imagine just what it was like for the poor Roman soldiers manning this part of the empire’s battlements.

The image was processed entirely in LR2, adjusting the contrast and colours for a more dramatic effect.  Finally I applied some edge darkening and vignetting to finish off.
